My name is Kimberly Arrington Minardi.  I am a bellydance performer, instructor, and costumer.  I have been dancing since 1993 when I started learning in the Society for Creative Anachronsim (a historical re-creation group of the Middle Ages and Renaissance).  I have been teaching bellydance since 1995, and have taught in Morgantown, WV, Charleston, WV and at many SCA events, including the Pennsic War, and Gulf Wars. My Society and dance name is Narah bint Durr. In the modern world, I follow Tribal Style bellydance. Last year, I was asked for my input to the latest edition of The Tribal Bible. Read my response to know my thoughts and feelings on tribal bellydance. Through bellydance, I reach my highest level. It is extremely spiritually, emotionally, and physically healing for me, and is my passion. My interests involving bellydance include the history, costuming, culture, and music surrounding the dance. Currently, I am teaching Middle Eastern dance classes in Charleston, WV at January’s Academy of Dance (601 Pennsylvania Ave).
